Last updated on Thursday, March 16, 2017

(UNDATED) - The Washington County Sheriff’s Department would like to remind everyone that construction signs have been placed on State Road 56 East.

The Indiana Department of Transportation's contractor is placing construction signs along State Road 56 at a culvert replacement site in Finley Township of Scott County near the Washington County line.

Installation of this new 3-sided concrete culvert at Weddle Creek will require closing the east-west highway for up to 45 days.

INDOT officials anticipate removal of the existing drainage structure will begin on Monday, March 20. At that time motorists will be detoured via State Road 256, State Road 39 and Interstate 65.

INDOT is also closing State Road 60 West between County Road North 600 East and North 750 East (4 miles west of Campbellsburg) for repairs. Actual closure dates will be Tuesday, March 21 and Wednesday, March 22.

State Road 60 will also be closed for repairs between 6th Street and 2nd Street (near Mitchell). Actual closure date near Mitchell will be Thursday, March 23 and Friday March 24.
