(BLOOMFIELD) - The Greene County Council has rescheduled its monthly meeting, which was supposed to include the final proposal of the Innkeeper's Tax.

Council attorney Marvin Abshire apologized for the need to postpone the meeting due to unforeseen circumstances causing lack of a quorum.

Only three of the seven councilmen were in attendance. The council would need to have four members in attendance to have a meeting and five in attendance to potentially pass a proposed tax.

Sabrina Stockrahm of the Greene County Daily World reports that the Commissioner's Room in the courthouse, where the County Council meets each month, was packed with individuals both for and against the proposed Innkeeper's Tax.

Abshire says he will reschedule the meeting, noting they do not intend to wait until the late April meeting to make the presentation. The attorney said he hopes to give more than the minimum 48 hours required for notice to ensure all of those who are interested can attend the meeting.
