(BEDFORD) - Brayton Bailey is following in his father's foot-steps.

The Bedford North Lawrence freshman was named to the All-Hoosier Hills Conference team by the league coaches. He's one of the few freshmen to earn the honor in league history. Bailey's father Damon, who also was selected during his first season with the Stars, was an All-State selection as a freshman in 1987.

Bailey averaged 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds, guiding the Stars to a 9-16 overall record (4-3 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) during the 2016-17 season.

The rest of the team included Madison's Daniel Anderson, Jeffersonville's Bailey Falkenstein, Columbus East's Tanner McFall and Jennings County's Tyler Vogel.

BNL sophomore guard McCall Ray was named to the Honorable Mention team. Ray averaged 11.8 points and 2.5 rebounds.
