Bloomington Domino's® Partners with Bloomington Fire Department To Promote Fire Safety

Last updated on Friday, March 10, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Domino’s, located at 527 N. Walnut and 2620 S. Walnut, are teaming up with the City of Bloomington Fire Department to promote fire safety during Daylight Savings (March 12th). On March 10th & 11th from 5pm-8pm, anyone who orders a Domino’s pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives along with a fire engine. If the smoke alarms in the home are working, their order is free. If the smoke alarms are not working, the firefighters will replace them or install new batteries.

"Fire safety is extremely important," said Mike Harding, Bloomington Domino's franchise owner. "We're very excited to partner with the fire department for a program that not only promotes the safety of our friends and neighbors, but rewards those who make fire safety a priority." We believe that changing the clocks in the spring and fall is a good time to remind folks to change their batteries and check their smoke and CO alarms.

"A very small percentage of people know how old their smoke alarms are or how often they need to be replaced," said Scott Smith, Fire Prevention Officer. "Making sure you have fully functioning smoke alarms in your home is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family in the event of a fire. Smoke alarms save lives."

The National Fire Protection Agency recommends that smoke alarms be replaced every 10 years. To find out how old a smoke alarm is, check the date of manufacture on the back of the alarm; the alarm should be replaced 10 years from that date.

Customers can call Bloomington Domino's at (812) 334-3030(North) or (812) 335-7777(South) to place their order and be eligible for the fire engine delivery. If you need assistance or have questions about your smoke or CO alarms you can call Bloomington Fire Department at 812-332-9763 and ask for the Fire Prevention Officer.
