2017 Orleans Dogwood Queen Contest Kickoff Event

Halle Minton was crowned queen of the 2016 48th Annual Dogwood Festival.

(ORLEANS) - The 2017 49th Annual Orleans Dogwood Queen Contest will host a kickoff event on April 1 at 2 p.m. at Orleans Unity Hall.

Young ladies interested in the pageants are invited to attend. Please RSVP to Ashley Knight at (812) 653-0255.

Dogwood queen contestants may turn in their forms and entry fees to Knight at this event.

Guest speakers include: representatives from the:

  • Indiana 500 princess program,
  • Miss Indiana program
  • Becky DeWeese - on stage coach
  • Miss Orange County 4-H contest
  • Emily Stalker- make up techniques, bring your own make up for helpful hints

The Dogwood Queen Contest this year will be April 22nd at 6 p.m. at the Orleans Elementary School.

Residents are encourage to come and vote for their favorite contestant.

One young lady will be crowned 2017 Orleans Dogwood Queen.

The Queen Contest sponsored by the Orleans Chamber of Commerce has traditionally served as the official opening ceremony for the town's trademark festival and this year the tradition continues.
