Last updated on Thursday, February 16, 2017

(CLARK CO.) - Get ready for an adventure at the Area II 4-H Camp. Camp will be held June 2-4.

4-H members in grades 3-8 are invited to join the courageous cowboys and cowgirls for a fabulous camping experience. Camp will be at Country Lake Retreat Center in Clark County.

Check-in is Friday, June 2 from 1-2 p.m. and pick up is at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 4th.

With a herd of nine counties camping together, you're sure to make new friends. Invite your friends to join us. Be sure to let them know they must officially join 4-H in order to register for camp.

Our Wild, Wild West Camp Theme will be a lot of fun.

The total cost of camp is $165 per camper. The Lawrence County 4-H Council has ten scholarships worth $100 each for the first ten registered campers. Your fee of $65 is due to the Purdue Extension- Lawrence County Office within 5 business days of submitting your online camper registration.

The registration fee includes all activity and class supplies, buffet meals, snacks, and a 4-H Camp t-shirt. The Wranglers won't tolerate any critters in the cabins, so please do not bring personal snacks or drinks to camp. No worries snacks are included in the price of camp. There's no need to bring any money to camp.

There's limited space at 4-H Camp so get signed up quickly. All 4-H Camp registrations are being submitted through 4HOnline this year. No gold coins or gold nuggets accepted - payment should be made via check and turned in to the Purdue Extension Office. Registration is due in 4HOnline by May 1. Health forms can be uploaded to 4HOnline, submitted to the Extension Office, or brought to camp with you on June 2. You can find all of the details on our website at https://extension.purdue.edu/Lawrence/Pages/article.aspx?intItemID=12419

Once you have enrolled in camp, be on the lookout after May 1st for a confirmation letter, including information about what to bring to camp. All good 4-H cowboys and cowgirls will want to be prepared for uncharted adventure including canoeing, fishing, swimming in the lake or pool, crafts, recreation, and special classes. Check out the Country Lake Website for pictures and descriptions of the facilities: http://countrylake.org/.

Campers once again get to choose the classes they want to take at 4-H Camp. Be sure to enter your class choices in 4HOnline. Class choices will be on first come, first serve basis, so be sure to register ASAP to get the classes you want! We will do our best to accommodate all of your class choices, but you might be added to a class you did not choose. What a great way to learn something new!
