(BEDFORD) - A Bloomfield man has been arrested on a preliminary charge of murder.

24-year-old William Levi Abel was booked into Greene County Jail early Sunday morning and is being held without bond.

Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw says the investigation is ongoing and no formal charges have been filed.

Police are not saying if he is linked to the death of 21-year-old Chase Aliano.

Aliano was reported missing at 10:54 p.m. Friday by family members who told Lawrence County police they had last saw him on Tuesday when he said he was going to a friend's house in Greene County. He was last seen driving a red Chevrolet Tracker.

According to a death notice from Day & Carter Mortuary Aliano died Tuesday. Arrangements are pending.

Family members say police recovered the vehicle in Greene County.
