(WORTHINGTON) - A Greencastle man was arrested Tuesday, after he allegedly violated a protective order, broke into a home and was stabbed during an altercation with another male.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on February 2, Worthington Police officers found 26-year-old Joshua Carmichael sitting in the front passenger's seat of a car, parked under the carport of a home.

He was holding both hands over a wound on the right side of his lower torso and told police he had been stabbed by a man inside the home with a screwdriver.

The officers entered the home, at which time a man came toward the officers. That man was restrained and escorted downstairs.

There the man, who had been drinking, told police Carmichael had broke into his home. He also told police he had an active protective order against Carmichael.

Police found that Carmichael did break into the home after kicking in the front door. Police found pieces of that door lying on the floor.

A warrant was issued for Carmichael's arrest on charges of residential entry, breaking and entry of a dwelling, invasion of privacy and violation of a protective order.
