(BLOOMINGTON) - A homeless man was arrested Monday night after he attempted to steal another man’s wallet in the restroom of the Taco Bell on North Walnut Street.

Bloomington Police arrested 30-year-old Jacob Orender on a felony charge of robbery.

Bloomington Police Lt. John Kovach says, Orender followed a 26-year-old man into the restroom and confronted him, reached into his back pocket and took his wallet. The man grabbed his wallet and punched Orender a few times before employees entered the restroom and broke up the fight,.

Orender then asked one of the employees to call police and then left the store.

As police were en route to the restaurant Orender flagged down police at North Walnut and East Eighth streets. Orender told police he was using the restroom when another man entered, came up to him and punched him in the face six times. He then requested an ambulance, but decline medical attention when they arrived.

Police say Orender was intoxicated.

The manager of the Taco Bell told police Orender had been in the restaurant for a long period of time before the incident and was harassing customers.
