(WASHINGTON) - A 19-year-old girl was flown from Daviess County to Evansville after her car was hit by a semi on Thursday morning.

The accident was reported around 7:30 a.m.

According to police, Abigail Kelsey was in a 2006 Nissan on State Road 57 at Sandy Hook Curve south of Washington and went off the right side of the road and over-corrected.

Daviess County Deputy JR Crew says she shot across the road and was t-boned by a semi driven by 72-year-old Billy J. Like, of Petersburg. The truck was a log truck, but was not loaded.

Deputy Crew says Kelsey was partially ejected from the car.
