Bloomington Man Arrested On Child Molesting Charge

Last updated on Monday, February 6, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police say he had sexual relations with a 13-year-old female he met on a website.

Monroe County Police arrested 26-year-old Evan Miller of Bloomington on a felony charge of child molesting. He is being held in the Monroe County Jail on a $100,000 surety or $1,000 cash bond.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the teen told police that during fall break in October 2016 she got on the website called Whisper and asked 'if anyone was free." That is when she and Miller began messaging each other and after a few days decided to meet.

The teen told police she knew Evan was 25 and he knew she was only 13. The teen told police that Evan asked her if she was a cop and she told him no.

The girl told police she and Miller had sex on two out of the four occasions they met.

One of the sexual encounters happened near Highland Park Elementary School, where Miller allegedly threw out his used condoms. Police searched the area and collected the condoms as evidence. They also found a phone number, photographs and data on the teen's phone from Miller.
