Bloomington Man Arrested After Resisting Law Enforcement

Last updated on Tuesday, February 28, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police received a 911 call asking for help in the 2600 block of North Walnut Street, at 12:55 a.m. Saturday.

The caller hung up before providing a complete address, but officers went to the apartment complex to locate the caller.

Once there, they found 25-year-old Robert Fowler and a woman arguing in an apartment.

The woman told police Fowler had been complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath.

Police say both appeared to be under the influence of some kind of drug.

While officers discussed whether to call for medical help, Fowler came out into a hallway of the complex and began grabbing their uniforms.

Fowler continued to resist officers as they escorted him to a police car.

Fowler was taken to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment, then arrested on a misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement.

He was booked him into the Monroe County Jail at 5:13 a.m. and later released after posting a $500 cash bond.
