Bloomfield Man Arrested After Hurting Juvenile During Domestic Fight

(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomfield man was arrested February 20th on a warrant after he allegedly injured a juvenile during a domestic fight at his home on February 5th.

Police arrested 50-year-old Baysul Buckner Jr. on a felony charge of domestic battery.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Greene County Sheriff's Department were called to the home after a report of a domestic fight.

When police arrived they found Buckner in the front yard next to his truck.

Police say Buckner was wanting to leave because he was angry and had been in a fight with a juvenile he was related to.

Police say Buckner had been drinking and was agitated and aggressive.

Baysul told police he was mad and wanted to leave, he was told because he was drinking he could not leave.

When police approached Buckner, he continued to be aggressive and told police the juvenile had pushed him, then pulled a knife on him and had attempted to stab him.

Buckner told police he subdued the juveniles by throwing him to the ground and took the knife away from him.

According to police the fight started after an argument over the juvenile's phone and internet usages and over a friend the juvenile had spent the night.

The teen told police Buckner was yelling and screaming and had raised his hands to strike the teen and then pushed them. The teen then pushed Buckner back, grabbed a knife and started backing away from Buckner yelling at him to leave them along.

The teen says Buckner then pushed the teen to the ground, twisted the teen's arm behind their back and placed the blade of the knife to the teens neck.

A female resident at the home confirmed the teen's story.

She says the fight started in the kitchen area and that Buckner was making fun of the teen's friend and wanted the teen's iPhone.

Police say the woman attempted to burn the teen's backpack.

She told police that after the teen grabbed the knife, she told them to drop it and that is when Buckner knocked the teen to the ground and placed to against the teen's neck.

The woman then grabbed Buckner by his ponytail pulling him off the teen and told him to get out of the house.

The woman told police Buckner is not to be around the family when he drinks.

Police says on February 6 they did meet with Child Protective Services in regard of removing the teen from the home.
