(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested Saturday afternoon after police say she had been huffing air duster.
Bedford Police arrested 51-year-old Tamara Coulter of Bedford on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated while endangering a person, inhaling toxic vapors and possession of a controlled substance.
At 3:54 p.m. police received a report of a woman in a Pontica Grand Prix on Plaza Drive near the car wash huffing a can of air duster.
"We then received a call saying the vehicle had left and was traveling east on 16th Street," says Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley. "The officer noticed erratic driving and stopped the vehicle at Brian Lane Way."
The officers noted Coulter seemed confused and had slurred speech.
Police found two cans of air duster, a bag that contained a pill crusher that had white residue on it.
Coulter was taken to the Lawrence County Jail and later posted a $505 cash bond and was released.
She was arrested again Thursday morning on a warrant stemming from an incident Friday at Walmart.
She is now facing additional charges of public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance and inhaling toxic vapors.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court probable cause affidavit, Coulter was found intoxicated at Walmart. Police say Coulter had alprazolam, a Schedule IV controlled substance in her possession.
She is currently being held without bond because she was out on bond when she was arrested this morning.
