(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was injured after she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a Duke Energy utility pole on Thursday afternoon.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 67-year-old Cora Spires of Bedford was driving north on Tunnelton Road, north of South Leatherwood Rd., when her 2008 Pontiac G6 went off the east side of the road, striking mailboxes and then a utility pole snapping it in half.

Cora complained of chest pain, but refused medical treatment at the scene, saying she would seek medical treatment on her own.
