(BEDFORD) - Bedford Fire Department firefighters are still at the scene of a fire at 306 R Street.

Bedford Fire Department firefighters were alerted to the blaze around 8 a.m.

The occupants, Randy and Kaye Kelley, were sleeping in a downstairs bedroom when the fire started and were able to escape after they were alerted to the blaze by their granddaughter Destinee Andis.

Another occupant 23-year-old Tyson Andis, was upstairs but was able to escape by jumping from a second-floor window and suffered a leg injury.

The Kelleys live in the home with five grandchildren, who had left from school before the fire started.
