Springville Man Arrested After Attempting To Slit Woman's Throat With Butter Knife

(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville man was arrested Friday morning on a warrant after police say he attempted to slit a woman’s throat with a butter knife during a domestic fight.

Lawrence County Police arrested 60-year-old Randy Grubb on a charge of domestic battery with a deadly weapon. He was released from the Lawrence County Jail on Saturday after posting a $2,005 bond.

According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, Grubb is accused of injuring his girlfriend at her home in the 1000 block of Harrodsburg Road.

Police say the woman suffered bruising to her right eye and cuts and scrapes to her neck. The woman told police she got the black eye on Christmas after Grubb allegedly hit her "four to five times."

Then between Christmas and December 30, the woman says Grubb knocked her to the ground causing bruising and scrapes to her knee.

Then on December 30, Grubb allegedly poked her in the mouth causing her lip to swell and strangled her until she passed out. She told police he also used a butter knife to cut and scrape her neck. She told police Grubb was attempting to slit her throat.
