Seymour Man Arrested After Attempting To Pull Deputy's Gun From Holster

(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man was arrested Tuesday after he attempted to remove a sheriff deputy’s gun from its holster.

Jackson County Police arrested 19-year-old Hayden Decker on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and disarming a law enforcement officer.

According to Lt. Andy Wayman, officers were attempting to transport Decker to Schneck Medical Center after they were called to a report of an unruly man under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Decker became combative and placed his hand on Deputy Jesse Hutchinson's gun and attempted to pull the weapon from its holster. Deputy Hutchinson with the assistance of Seymour officers, took Decker to the ground and placed him in handcuffs.

Decker under went a medical evaluation and after being medically cleared was transported to the Jackson County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
