(NSA CRANE) - Naval Support Activity Crane, along with Navy installations throughout the continental United States, will be participating in an anti-terrorism and force protection exercise January 30 though February 10.
The exercise, Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield 2017, is an annual exercise designed to enhance the readiness of Navy security forces and ensure seamless interoperability among the commands, other services, and agency partners.
"Exercises like this test and ensure our readiness and ability to respond appropriately should a threat arise," said CDR Timothy Craddock, NSA Crane commanding officer. "The safety and security of our workforce is paramount."
Measures have been taken to minimize disruptions within local communities and to normal base operations, but there may be times when the exercise causes increased traffic around bases or delays in base access. Area residents may also see or hear security activities associated with the exercise.
"We take exercises seriously," said Craddock, who has been the installation CO for more than two years. "We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we work through this exercise these next two weeks."
