Last updated on Thursday, January 12, 2017

(BLOOMFIELD) - An Indianapolis man is facing charges after he called an accomplice from the Greene County Jail where he was being held to remove drugs and firearms from a motel room in Linton where he had been staying.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 61-year-old Russell Christy, made a call from the jail on December 28, where he was being held on a possession of meth charge. During that call he asked a male accomplice to go to the motel room in Linton and remove drugs and firearms.

The Greene County Daily World reports that a Greene County Sheriff deputy was alerted by a jailer about the suspicious phone call. All phone calls at the Greene County Jail are recorded and periodically monitored by jailers.

Cullison allegedly told the male to go to the motel room and remove his firearms and a medicine bag that contained the drugs.

A warrant was filed, charging Cullison with illegal possession of a firearm.
