(BEDFORD) - An Ellettsville man was arrested after Bedford Police received calls reporting a man lying in the roadway at 25th and H streets Saturday night.

When police arrived on the scene at 10:25 p.m. they found 28-year-old Casey Clark passed out in the middle of the road.

"They attempted several times to get him to wake up," says Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley. "Finally they were able to rouse him. He was so intoxicated he couldn't tell them his home address or where he was. The address he finally gave them didn't exist"

Clark was taken to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for a medical evaluation because of his level of intoxication.

"There he became irate yelling and cursing at staff and officers," Chief Parsley added. "He refused to calm down."

Clark was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
