(BEDFORD) - A Bloomington man was arrested after he became combative with police during a traffic stop.

Bedford police were called to a home on 17th Street, late Saturday night after a report of four people attempting to break into a home.

"Officers were given a description of the truck and stopped it at 17th and L streets," says Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley. "After stopping the vehicle the driver 25-year-old Joshua Gore got out of the vehicle and was told to get back inside."

Gore allegedly would not comply with police, but finally got back into the vehicle after several commands.

After backup arrived, officers approached the vehicle and Gore became uncooperative, arguing with officers.

"When asked for a driver's license, Mr. Gore provided officers with an identification," Chief Parsley added. "He did not have a valid driver's license."

Officer then ordered Gore out of the vehicle. Again he refused to cooperate.

"He continued to be argumentative and cussing at officers," Chief Parsley added."Once he got out of the vehicle, he was placed in handcuffs and asked to sit on the tailgate of the truck. That is when he pushed and kicked an officer and the charged at that same officer."

Officers had to take Gore to the ground where he continue to be combative and was then tased.

"At that point the officers were able to get him under control," Chief Parsley says.

Gore was checked by an ambulance crew and then taken to jail on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and was cited for driving while his driver's license was suspended.
