Last updated on Thursday, December 15, 2016

(DAVIESS CO.) - New jobs could be coming to Daviess County if the commissioners approve an the county’s Advisory Plan Commission plan to rezone property at the WestGate Tech Park.

Monday night the Plan Commission approved a request to rezone six acres of land in the WestGate Tech Park from B-1 Commercial to I-1 light Industrial.

Speaking for the developers, Dale Akrom says the Alion Science and Technology chose Daviess County as the location for its Indiana operations.

Alion services and rehabs air conditioning components for aircraft.

Jobs would number 12 in the first year, 20 in the second and eventually more than 60.

Since Alion is not affiliated with Crane opens up a whole new dynamic at the Tech Park.

The Daviess County Commissioners will vote on the Plan Commission's recommendation to approve the zoning change at their meeting on December 27.
