(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested Sunday morning after he alleged hurt his girlfriend during a domestic fight.
Mitchell Police arrested 33-year-old Christopher Vangemert, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery. He is being held in the Lawrence County jail on a $7,500 surety, or $755 cash bond.
Police say Vangement was living with his girlfriend in the 400 block of East Frank Street and came home drunk.
The two got into an argument after he found a picture of a man on her phone.
Vangement began shoving the woman, when she attempted to get her phone from him and leave.
He then knocked her to the ground, held her down and hit her head and proceeded to hit her head against the door..
The woman suffered pain to her head and shoulder.
