(MARENGO) - A Marengo man was killed Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle at the G&S One Stop in Marengo.

The driver fled the scene.

Police arrested 46-year-old Dickie Wilson of Eckerty on Friday afternoon.

According to a Crawford County Sheriff's Department press release, officers were called to the service station just before 7:30 a.m., after a report of an unresponsive man lying in the parking lot.

Emergency crews responded and rushed 46-year-old George Hinton to Harrsion County Hospital where he died.

The accident was captured on surveillance video. Police say a dark-colored Ford Truck struck Hinton in the back parking lot causing him to fall to the ground. After striking Hinton, the video shows Wilson get out of the driver's side and check on Hinton and then get back into the truck and flee.

Because of that video, police were able to identify Wilson and contacted him at his home.

Wilson told police he didn't know he had hit Hinton until he saw him lying on the ground. Hinton when he realized what he had done, he "freaked out" and fled.

Wilson told police he then drove to family member's home in Orange County where he left the truck and then got a ride home.

Wilson was arrested without incident on a Level 5 felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. He is being held in the Crawford County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
