(NASHVILLE) - A pickup truck that had earlier been reported stolen from Bloomington was found late Monday afternoon, just after it had been driven into a tree on Country Club Road, just east of Nashville.

Driving the stolen 1995 Ford F-150 pickup was 28-year-old Jesse Richardson of Bloomington.

According to police, Richardson was driving at a high-rate of speed and was unable to negotiate a curve, leaving the roadway, striking a fence and ultimately a tree.

Richardson, who suffered multiple compound fractures, was then flown by helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Both the crash and ensuing criminal investigation are currently ongoing.

Assisting agencies: Brown County Sheriff's Department, Nashville Police Department, Columbus Hospital Ambulance, Nashville Fire, IU Health Lifeline and ISP Trooper Chris Griggs.
