(ELLETTSVILLE) - A Gosport woman was arrested Thursday, after Ellettsville police say she stole copper, radiators and rotors from Smithville Telephone.
A representative of the company reported the thefts on November 27.
According to a press release, surveillance cameras recorded a white Mercury Mountaineer SUV at the business. That same vehicle was observed again at 4:15 p.m. on that Thursday.
Smithville Telephone reported to Ellettsville police last week that, late in the evening of November 27, someone had stolen copper, radiators and rotors from the company.
A deputy marshal stopped the vehicle a short distance from the lot and identified the driver as 56year-old Melanie J. Huntsman, of Gosport.
She was arrested her on a preliminary charge of felony theft and booked into the Monroe County Jail where she is being held on a $5,000 surety, $500 cash.
