(WASHINGTON CO.) - A former Pekin man was sentenced to four years at the Indiana Department of Correction with one year suspended after he plead guilty to one felony count of child exploitation.

In July 2014, 25-year-old Isaac Wililam Schmitt was arrested after the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Childre Task Force and Indiana State Trooper arrested him at his home in Pekin.

The arrest was the result of a tip relayed to officers from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, (NCMEC), of a subject allegedly uploading child pornography to an internet account. As officers began their investigation it led to Borden, where troopers found Schmitt at his place of employment.

After speaking with Schmitt, officers along with Schmitt went to his home in Pekin. After completing a search, officers seized his personal computer.

Schmitt was then arrested on felony charges of possession of child pornography and child exploitation.
