Fire Damaged Roof Of Bloomington Home

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Fire Department extinguished an attic fire in the home in the 1300 block of East Southdowns Drive early Friday morning.

According to Bloomington Fire Department, the homeowner discovered the fire after the lights began flickering inside the home and he pulled down the attic ladder.

When firefighters arrived at 12:12 a.m. the fire was shooting out a part of the roof of the single-store ranch home.

According to reports, a portion of the roof was destroyed and there was water and smoke damage to the inside of the home. Firefighters also had to cut holes in the ceiling of two of the rooms to extinguish the blaze.

The exact cause the the fire is still under investigation, but firefighters believe it was electrical in nature.
