
(EAST OOLITIC) - A man was arrested after he called police during a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend Wednesday night.
According to the Lawrence County Police Department log, 23-year-old Aaron Kenney of East Oolitic called to report that he was in a domestic fight with his ex-girlfriend and she was attempting to take his vehicle. He told the woman he was going to call police and that is when Kenney alleged told her he was calling police to say she was stealing the vehicle.
The woman then attempted to leave and that is when Kenney allegedly stood in front of the vehicle to prevent her from leaving. He told dispatcher the woman then accelerated causing him to go onto the hood of the vehicle and into the windshield.
The man says he suffered road rash and skinned his elbow and was going to IU Health Hospital emergency room for treatment.
But Kenney found himself behind bars.
The woman has also called police to report she had been battered.
An Oolitic Police Department officer responded and the woman told him she had been injured by Kenney. He had since left the home.
According to Lawrence County Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, a knot was forming on the woman's head.
When Kenney returned home he was arrested on a charge of domestic battery and taken to jail. He is being held on a
$5,000 surety, or $505 cash.
