Annual Holiday Pet Supply Drive To Benefit City of Bloomington Animal Shelter And The Monroe County Humane Association

Last updated on Wednesday, December 14, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Animal Shelter announces the launch of its annual pet supply drive.

The Shelter requests donations of items such as toys, treats and bedding in order to make the animals' stay at the shelter more comfortable while they await their forever homes. Donations of all types of bedding, including blankets, comforters, rugs, towels, sheets and pillowcases, are especially important as we head into the colder months.

Community members can help animals in need by donating any of the following items:

Donation boxes decorated by students from Binford, Grandview, St. Charles and Pinnacle schools will be available in the following locations: Donations can also be brought directly to the Shelter, 3410 S Walnut St, during the following business hours:

Through the Science Diet feeding program, the Shelter receives all the dry food necessary to feed shelter animals. However, the Shelter is always happy to accept donations of dry pet food, which is used to stock a pet food pantry hosted by the Monroe County Humane Association to help community members who need assistance in caring for their pets. Being able to provide this type of assistance means that some animals can stay in their homes rather than be relinquished to the shelter.
