Bedford Man Killed In Christmas Morning Crash

(BLOOMINGTON) - David Beyers, Bedford North Lawrence Middle School athletic director and popular teacher, was killed in a crash on Ind. 37 early Christmas morning.

Police officers were alerted to the accident north of Bloomington just before 6:30 a.m. According to police logs, Northern Monroe County Fire Territory first responders and police were on the scene for almost two hours.

According to Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer, Beyers died from injuries suffered in the accident. An autopsy results and toxicology tests are pending.

Monroe County Police say Beyers was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

His wife was also in the vehicle and injured. She was wearing a seat belt during the incident. She was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
