Wet Roadways Contributed To Fatal Collision

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana State Police say wet roads contributed to a fatal collision that killed a Bloomington woman Thursday morning.

The accident was reported at 9:21 a.m. Thursday at Fairfax and Schacht roads.

According to troopers, 33-year-old Rhiannah David of Plymouth was driving a 2008 Toyota west on Fairfax Road,when she lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway and crossed the centerline. David's car struck the eastbound 2014 moped driven by 38-year-old Erica Sanders.

Sanders, of Bloomington, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was thrown from her moped in the crash and had not been wearing a helmet.

David was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment of minor face lacerations.

Members of the Monroe County Coroner's Office and Perry-Clear Creek Fire Department assisted Indiana State Police and IU Health Ambulance Service personnel.
