Two Injured In Accident At Entrance To Spring Mill State Park

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was injured after a rear-end collision on Ind. 60 at the entrance of Spring Mill State Park, Sunday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 21-year-old Jonathan Hattabugh suffered a fractured lower leg and was flown by StatFlight helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.

According to police, Hattabugh was traveling east on Ind. 60 near the state park entrance when for an unknown reason he collided his 200 Chevrolet Cavalier into the rear of a 2009 General Motor Sierra pickup driven by 32-year-old Matthew Wronowicz.

According to police, Wronowicz was traveling east on Ind. 60 and had stopped to make a left turn into the park when the accident happened.

Hattabugh was freed from the wreckage by Marion Volunteer Fire Department first responders had him freed from the wreckage before Bedford Fire Department extrication arrived.

Wronowicz complained of neck pain, but told police he would go by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment.

Later police determined Hattabugh was driving with a suspended driver's license, had no insurance and the vehicle had a fictitious license plate. He was cited for all three offenses.
