State Parks To Close For Deer Reduction Hunts

Last updated on Friday, November 4, 2016

(UNDATED) - Brown County, McCormick’s Creek and Spring Mill state parks will be closed November 14-15 and November 28-29 for the Indiana state park deer reduction hunts.

Hunters interested in participating already have submitted their applications online. Each person who is selected to participate in the hunt can have two hunting partners.

This year, there are 17 state parks that will participate in the deer reduction hunts. Hunters at two state parks -- Clifty Falls and Fort Harrison -- only can use archery equipment that is legal to hunt deer in Indiana. For the other deer hunts, hunters can use firearms legal to take deer on public land in Indiana.
