Last updated on Thursday, November 3, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - Brian Shockney has been named Chief Operating Officer for IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

He reports to Matt Bailey, new president of the region - which includes facilities in Morgan, Bedford, Bloomington and Paoli.

Shockney's responsibilities will include leading nursing, professional and support services, transformation initiatives and medical staff operations as well as participating in HR, marketing and communications. He will also play a key role in the development, design and construction of the new regional health campus in Bloomington.

Shockney has a bachelor's degree from Indiana University-Kokomo and an MHA from Indiana University in Indianapolis. He was most recently COO for IU Health Arnett Hospital, and a former president and CEO for Logansport Memorial Hospital.

He and his wife will be relocating to the Bloomington area. Here he hopes to be involved in the community as it relates to the university, arts and culture, and where he can pursue his life long passion for running on area trails.
