Patoka Lake Athletic Conference Announces All-PLAC Football, Volleyball Teams

(UNDATED) - The Patoka Lake Athletic Conference has announced its 2016 All-PLAC football and volleyball teams.

Conference champion West Washington placed eight players on the All-PLAC football squad. Running back Landon McPheeters, quarterback Michael Sizemore, receivers Noah Green and Hunter Sanford, offensive lineman Jackson Byrne, defensive lineman Seth Goode and defensive backs Bryce Farmer and Hunter Holiday earned nods for the Senators.

Mitchell placed six players on the squad with linebacker Greg Brown, defensive back A.J. Elmes, defensive lineman Caleb Lobosky, running back Brandon Brazzell, receiver Cade Pritchett and offensive lineman Tyler Kirk garnering selections.

Paoli also put eight players on the team as offensive lineman Tyson Whaley, running back Ian Strange, Dietrich Sears (offensive at-large), defensive lineman Chaz Becht, linebackers Ty Lawson and Jordan England, defensive back Timmy Burton and punter Tyler Smith were named.

Springs Valley placed four players on the squad with defensive linemen Chase Crecelius and Jacob Bates, offensive lineman Triston Hart and offensive at-large nominee Braden Whitaker were picked.

Perry Central put offensive lineman Cole Harpeneau, running back Alex Simpson, kicker Jacob Kelly and Austin Wilkerson on the team.

Crawford County linebacker Ty Nicholson was also named.

Mitchell's Lexi Walls was named to the All-PLAC Volleyball team, while Springs Valley placed Caity Pierce, Caitlyn Reynolds and Sophie Webster earned the honor.

Orleans' Caitlin Rutherford and Hadleigh Smith were selected, while Paoli placed Keaton Chastain, Anna Hutcheson and Madison Street on the team. West Washington's Ryanna Watson was also named.

In other volleyball news, Loogootee's Julianne Bell was named to the Class A All-State First team, while Valley's Pierce and Reynolds, along with Loogootee's Emily Brookshire, were named to the Class A All-State Second Team.
