Nearly 100 Entries In 34th Annual Bedford Festival Of Lights Christmas Parade Saturday
Last updated on Wednesday, November 30, 2016
(BEDFORD) - It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Downtown Bedford and the downtown area will be bustling with activity Saturday to ring in the holiday season with the 34th Annual Bedford Festival of Lights Christmas parade.
The parade will begin at 6 p.m. with nearly 100 entries.
This years theme is Decades of Christmas.
David Miller, chief executive officer of Hoosier Uplands Economic Development Corp. in Mitchell, and his wife Susan Miller, director of the Bedford Public Library, are this year's grand marshals.
Co-Chair Sarah Reinhard says something new this year is that kids can get their free photos with Santa Claus before the parade steps off.
Pictures with Santa will be offered at Stone Cutters Café and Roastery from 3 to 5 p.m. The pictures will be posted to downtownbedford.org, where users can download and share them.
The parade lineup will begin at 3 p.m. at 15th and M streets. New judging categories this year include Best Overall Theme and Best Lighted Entry.
Attendees can visit the parade's vendors along J Street.
For more information, contact Bedford Revitalization Inc. at (812) 329-4221. Co-chairs for the event are Reinhard, Elizabeth Andry and Heidi Davis.
