Mitchell High School Band To Go To Chicago Next Summer

(MITCHELL) -The Mitchell School Board voted to approve for band students from the high school will travel to Chicago for a three-day trip next summer.

The Times Mail reported the trip will take place June 9-11.

Board members also voted to appoint Mitchell Junior High School Principal Jennifer Caruso to serve as a board appointee to the Mitchell Community Public Library board of directors. She will replace William Mullis on the board.

In personnel matters, board members approved a leave of absence for Mitchell High School teacher Kent Ramey. The leave will be effective from Nov. 3 to the end of the school year.

The board also acted on an Indiana School Board's Association recommendation that school corporations adopt a policy providing for greater efficiency in the administration of federal grants and awards. The board approved a policy 5-0.
