INDOT I-69 Meetings Geared To Low-Income, Minority Groups

Last updated on Monday, November 14, 2016

(MARTINSVILLE) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will invite members of low-income or minority communities who might be affected by Section 6 of the Interstate 69 extension to a series of neighborhood gatherings this week.

The meetings required by federal law will be held Today through Nov. 17 in Marion, Johnson and Morgan counties.

Low-income or minority community members who might be impacted by the extension will receive surveys to help the I-69 Section 6 project team determine the preferred and alternative routes of the section that will run between Martinsville and Indianapolis along the Indiana 37 corridor.

The Federal Highway Administration requires INDOT to conduct specific outreach to ensure inclusion of all socio-economic or minority communities.
