(BLOOMFIELD) - Saturday morning, the driver that caused the death of three Newburg residents on November 13 turned himself in to Greene County authorities after a warrant was filed for his arrest.

The Greene County Prosecutor has charged 19-year-old Mason Hartkey of Jasper with three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08 causing death and three counts of reckless homicide. All six charges are Level 5 felonies. His bond has been set at $60,000.

The crash investigation revealed that a Honda Civic, driven by 46-year-old David Rinehart, was traveling southbound on I-69 and had struck a deer causing the Honda to pull onto the outside shoulder and come to a stop.

Afterward, a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck driven by Mason Hartkey was traveling southbound on I-69 approaching Rinehart's location when the truck left the southbound lanes of traffic and entered the outside shoulder, striking the parked Honda.

The crash resulted in the deaths of 46-year-old David Rinehart, 74-year-old Ruth Rinehart, and 17-year-old Sophie Rinehart. Another passenger in the Honda, 18-year-old Josie Rinehart, suffered cuts and abrasions and was transported to IU Health Bloomington.

Hartkey was transported to IU Health after suffering a fractured arm.
