(DUBOIS CO.) - The Emergency Management Alliance of Indiana (EMAI) awarded Tammy Humbert, director and Gary Fritz, deputy director of the Dubois County Emergency Management Agency the EMAI's President's Award.

The Dubois County News reports the award was given during the annual Emergency Management Alliance of Indiana and the Indiana Emergency Response Commission (EMAI/IERC) conference held in Indianapolis last week.

The alliance selected them for the award in recognition of their outstanding preparedness efforts that enabled a quick and coordinated response to the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) outbreak in Dubois County.

Prior to receiving the award Director Humbert gave a presentation about the local response to the incident to those attending the conference. She discussed how all the local agencies and businesses involved were able to come together quickly and work together efficiently to get the problem under control quickly.
