Last updated on Friday, November 18, 2016

(HOLLAND) - A driver was arrested for driving intoxication after she was involved in a Wednesday afternoon crash in southwest Dubois County.

At 1:27 p.m. Wednesday, Justin Hinton, of Kentucky, was sitting in his semi tractor-trailer on the shoulder of State Road 161, south of Holland, awaiting roadside service for two flat tires.

That is when 18-year-old Kassandra Berger of Holland was traveling north on State Road 161, when she allegedly fell asleep and drove her 2008 Toyota off of the roadway and onto the shoulder, striking the parked semi.

Berger, who complained of pain, was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for treatment. While at the hospital, Berger tested positive for the presence of THC in her system.

She was arrested and taken to the Dubois County Security Center on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
