(BLOOMINGTON) - A vehicle fire ignited a building at 1030 West 17th Street in Bloomington Saturday night.
The fire damaged four vehicles and closed down the street as Bloomington Fire Department battled the blazes.
Bloomington Fire Department Station 3 was alerted to a vehicle fire at the corner of West 17th Street and North Monroe Street at 9:37 p.m.
That fire spread to a building and firefighters from all five Bloomington fire stations were called to the scene.
According to reports, firefighters say it appears as though a vehicle parked close to a one-story complex that housed office space caught fire and the blaze quickly spread to another vehicle and the building itself.
Firefighters closed 17th Street so that fire hoses could be stretched across the road to a fire hydrant.
Firefighters were on the scene until 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
No injuries were reported. Firefighter reported estimated damages around $100,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Bloomington Police Department, Bloomington Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to notify Detective Jeff Rodgers at the Bloomington Police Department.
Assisting at the scene: Bloomington Police officers and IU Health ambulance crews. Duke Energy also was called to turn off the building's electricity.
