(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police arrested five Indianapolis residents after they were caught on surveillance video Sunday afternoon stealing more than $4,400 worth of items from three Bloomington stores.

Police were called to Dick's Sporting Goods, at 2850 East Third Street around 12:50 p.m. Sunday after employees reported a group of people grabbed outerwear from clothing racks at the front of the store and ran. The group left the parking lot in a silver Pontiac Grand Am.

About 45 minutes later, the same officer was called to a report of a theft at Kohl's, at 3140 West Whitehall Crossing. There the officer spotted the silver Pontiac, that matched the description of the vehicle given by Dick's employees.

The officer stopped the vehicle near Third Street and Gates Drive, and arrested five people.

Bloomington Police Department Lt. Brad Seifers, says security video at Kohl's showed five people jamming store items into bags and running away.

Police also obtained video footage of the group stealing items at Macy's and Dick's, in the College Mall.

Police arrested 21-year-old Willie Eaton III, 18-year-old Makayla Marshall, 18-year-old Justin Smith, 19-year-old Ryan Williams and 18-year-old Tayay Williams. All three are facing charges of felony theft and were taken to the Monroe County Jail on preliminary felony charges of theft.
