Woman Charged With Murder After Verbal Altercation At Halloween Party

Last updated on Tuesday, October 18, 2016

(COAL CITY) - An Indianapolis woman was arrested and charged with murder after a shooting at a Halloween party.

State police detectives were called to the scene at a home on Lampher Farm Road, near Coal City, just after midnight on Saturday.

Investigators believe 52-year-old Tammy Stuard shot and killed 53-year-old Bradley Jones of Coal City in his home after a verbal argument.

Court documents show Stuard told detectives she shot Jones with her own handgun because she believed he was going to attempt to hurt others at the party.

She was charged with murder Monday afternoon in the Owen County Circuit Court.
