Stolen Campaign Signs Returned With Editorial Enhancements

Last updated on Tuesday, October 18, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - Political signs stolen from a southside Bloomington resident’s property were returned to the owner with “kindergarten-level representations of penises” drawn on them.

The Herald Times reports that every sign that Rita Drescher has put in her yard supporting Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her running mate, Tim Kaine, have disappeared from her property. But they have been returned within hours with profanities and sketches of penises on them.

Some come back with:

Drescher told the Herald Times that she has taken measures to deter people from stealing the signs, but nothing has worked.

She has other political signs in her yard, but it is only the presidential ones that are being stolen.

But the Republicans are also seeing signs stolen.

Republican Party Chairman William Ellis says signs have been stolen within Bloomington City limits and in Ellettsville.

Republican candidates being targeted are presidential nominee Donald Trump, county auditor candidate Ann Boehm and county treasurer candidate Ann Collins.
