Last updated on Thursday, October 20, 2016

(BEDFORD) - The City of Bedford’s Utilities Director Misty Adams says the city’s Sanitary Sewer Capacity Management Operation and Management Plan is complete and will be submitted to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

It is the last step in providing the state with what a schedule of maintenance activities the city is required to do.

The city has 82.7 miles of sewer lines and 1,196 manholes, all of which must be inspected and assessed. The city has about 51/2 years to complete the assessment. Once that is complete, Adams will set priorities for replacing old and cracked lines.
