Indiana State Fraternal Order Of Police Endorse Chris Woods For State Representative In District 65

Last updated on Tuesday, October 11, 2016

(BEDFORD) - The Woods for Indiana campaign announced the Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has “overwhelmingly voted” to support Chris Woods in his bid for State Representative.

"It is truly an honor to have the support of over 14,000 active and retired police officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect the citizens of Indiana." Woods said. "I am committed to working with law enforcement to ensure our communities are safe places to live, work, and raise a family."

Indiana State FOP President William Owensby writes in the organization's endorsement letter of Woods, "Seldom do we find a candidate of your caliber who has the leadership and integrity to carry out the duties as State Representative for the great state of Indiana. Your support and commitment to Indiana Law Enforcement has not gone unnoticed."

Woods further noted that his campaign has been focused on issues that matter to the people that live in District 65, and one of those issues is the crippling drug epidemic. "I have offered a vision that would bring law enforcement and healthcare professionals to the table to create ways to combat this crisis. To have earned this endorsement only affirms that our message is resonating and that the district is looking to hire a representative that can work across party lines to get things done."

House District 65 covers all of Brown County, parts of Jackson, Johnson, Lawrence, and Monroe counties.
