(BEDFORD) - GM Bedford Casting plans to invest $12 million in the Bedford plant and will retain 12 employees and create future jobs.
The Bedford City Council approved the 10-year tax abatement for the investment Tuesday, giving the company a tax break on their new investment. The company will receive a 100 percent tax break on its investment the first year, 90 percent the next, then 80 and so on until the 10 years are up.
Under Indiana law, companies direct a portion of the savings to local economic development groups. GM will direct those savings to the Bedford Redevelopment Commission.
